Under a services framework agreement, the Compass team have delivered a range of systems to the Irish Environmental Protection Agency over the past year and will continue to do so we hope in the coming year.

Solutions delivered include:

  • Web-based assimilative capacity model for proposed wastewater discharges;
  • Web-based risk assessment systems for landfill and extractive industries;
  • Data management and reporting systems to support large national monitoring programmes;
  • Development of xml-based reporting tool to support European Commission 'WISE / EIONet' reporting;
  • Support to server infrastructure configuration and upgrade;
  • Business analysis project supporting enhancements to information analysis and sharing systems;
  • Provision of on-site support staff covering roles in data management, systems development, ICT infrastructure management; project managment, business analysis;
  • and a forthcoming tool for allocation of unique identifiers to water features in support of national and EU reporting requirements.

What this suite of projects has illustrated is the ability to design and implement advanced yet easy to use tools on the Web, and the critical importance of effective data management and collection systems in supporting those and other systems.
