EU INSPIRE Directive - INSPIRE ISO Compliance Toolkit from Compass Informatics Compass Informatics have a proven expertise in solutions supporting the EU INSPIRE Directve.  We have now combined our suite of technology options into an INSPIRE ISO Compliance Toolkit. The Toolkit provides a full solution to compliancy - via use of largely open sourced technologies, integrating where required with proprietary solutions, and branded to your organisation's look and feel. 

By combining the technology options of the Toolkit, with services from our INSPIRE Compliance Portfolio means that you can avail of additional support services or indeed chosse to outsource your challenges to us more fully.

Toolkit Elements - Summary

:: Installation of open source software for metadata and network services, with proprietary software options where required

The INSPIRE ISO Toolkit is based around the use of open source components including GeoNetwork, GeoServer, MapServer.  By focussing on the open source options we minimise cost and allow budget to be used where it is needed most.  Where existing investment is in proprietary solutions e.g. ESRI, CadCorp, GeoMedia or others, we will use our expertise in proprietary software to build on those software.

:: Supply and installation of GeoNetwork metadata template for INSPIRE-compliant metadata

The HeoNetwork software is an excellent option for use as a metadata editor and for serving out your metadata into corporate or national portals.  We can provide an INSPIRE compliant metadata template that ensures that the metadata you prepare is in the required format and structure.

:: Web browser tools for assisting installation of software.

Our web tools provide a guide to software installation, or the Compass team can alternatively undertake all installation and support.

:: Web browser tools for monitoring operation of software.

For peace of mind the web-based tools will monitor the operation of the metadata and network services / web services and provide alerts.  Compass can provide a fully supported solution where required.

:: Installation and configuration of Content Management System for supporting website portal.

For corporate of other portals, an organisation will typically want to support a metadata or data search and view facility with supporting information.  We will design and install an open source content management system to allow the management and editing of that material.

:: Hosting of solution

Using the services of our hardware infrastructure specialists, we will install and support all solutions on existing suitable infrastructure (servers with high bandwidth web connectivity), or we can host on our own infrastructure.
