Compass Informatics provide spatial video aerial and ground survey systems.These are advanced yet affordable systems that even allow the user to
digitise features and attributes from within the video viewer.
These systems are generally used to assess and map facilities and infrastructure. Example applications are people or agencies interested in recording or monitoring events whether it is an expedition abroad, or engineers recording storm damage to riverbanks, or recording and mapping locations of roadsigns. These systems are usually hand held and have a recording accuracy at the 10m level.
We have surveyed approximately 800km of national routes in Ireland using this
system and have extracted roadside features to assist in traffic noise modelling
and mapping.
