The National Transport Authority appointed Compass Informatics to provide a range of GIS development and support services under the NTA’s Framework entitled ‘Provision of GeoSpatial Information Support Services’. Compass has played a strong role in supporting the NTA to deliver the corporate GIS strategy and other NTA strategic business requirements. The services are drawn down by the Authority as required.
GIS for Transport Planning
GIS is a key requirement for the NTA in supporting its remit for transport planning, informing investment and service priorities. The Authority has engaged Compass to provide spatial data management and spatial data analyses services to assist with the work programmes of various departments in the Authority. The engagement includes Compass staff working on-site in the offices of the NTA and in the Compass offices depending on the particular work package. Work tasks are managed effectively between the client and Compass project managers and are delivered in a timely manner.
Survey Data Management
Compass is currently working with the NTA to develop an end-to-end solution to capture and manage survey data related to public transport infrastructure. This application will integrate with a mobile application that captures the survey data, presents the data via a web viewer to the user and enable the user to carry out a number of reporting functions.
